Junior Programs - Summer 2022
The framework for our junior programs is based on exceptional stroke production and technique, mental fortitude, and high-level fitness and conditioning. From our beginner clinics to our elite academy, our players are fueled with energy from our coaches, and one another.
Our Summer Junior Programs, outlined below, will be offered in conjunction with our Summer Camp. Both options will offer the same high-level coaching and energized tennis instruction. This Summer Junior Program will begin on June 20th, 2022 and run through September 1, 2022. Lastly, we offer a 30-day trial period for nonmembers. During that time, our standard $5 guest fee/visit will be waived. In order to provide the best experience for your child and also prepare our staff, we ask that you contact our Junior Program Coordinator, Jack Bippus at Juniors@rcwtennis.com prior to your child starting any programs. All programs require advanced registration through Jack Bippus.
Orange Ball Program
(3-4 Year Olds)
This program is designed for our youngest players and provides the perfect introduction to the sport. Using a variety of age-appropriate tools, our team of coaches will teach your child the basics of tennis. Players will learn foundational strokes such as forehands, backhands, and volleys. In addition to tennis skills, players will also be introduced to a variety of coordination and agility games to improve hand-eye coordination, balance, and footwork. Learning at this level happens through fun games, so it's all smiles for the kids!

Orange Ball Program
(5-7 Year Olds)
These players are working on basic athletic skills such as balance, quickness, strength, agility, and coordination. In addition, these players are working on learning fundamental tennis skills needed to start playing an actual game of tennis. Tennis focus will be on forehands and backhands, serves, and the rules of the game. This program utilizes the low-compression orange tennis ball, which is the ideal ball for beginners at the learning stages. This ball travels slower, and allows players to experience greater success early on, promoting positivity around their experience. The coaches of this program are excited to introduce your child(ren) to the game of a lifetime!

NEW PROGRAM ALERT!
Girls on the Court
Our team is launching a brand new program designed for our teen girls (ages 12-18 years old).
The mission: To give young girls a comfortable, “safe”, welcoming environment to continue to be introduced to the sport of tennis.
This program will allow these players to pursue tennis with other like-minded girls in a way that supports their personalities and current mindset, while helping them strengthen their resolve and relationship with the competitive aspects they will encounter as they continue to improve. We will incorporate a variety of mentors throughout the series that provide insight, share experiences, and help serve as leaders.
The program will run from 4pm-6pm on Thursdays. These two hours will involve an appropriate athletic warm-up, followed by a weekly topic and work on a specific skill, followed by singles and doubles match play with coaches helping them navigate all aspects of match play. Each session will end with mentors/coaches leading a 20-30 minutes discussion on a topic that helps these girl navigate their journey in sport and life.
Thursdays 4pm-6pm
