USTA Boys and Girls 12s Level 4 Team Tournament

July 22nd-24th

  CLOSED L4 Team events will be held on July 22-24 for 12s and 16s, and on July 29-31 for 14s and 18s.  You cannot play on both weekends.  If you are selected to play in the 12s or the 16s, you will be removed from the applicant list for the 14s and 18s.

A team will comprise of 3 boys and 3 girls.  

A minimum of 4 teams (12 boys and 12 girls) and a maximum of 6 teams (18 boys and 18 girls) will be selected for this event.

At least 12 boys AND 12 girls MUST REGISTER for this event, or it will be canceled.  

​

Players will be selected in multiples as follows: 12 boys/12 girls, 15 boys/15 girls, or 18 boys/18 girls.  

3 boys and 3 girls will be selected for each team by the NSL published on July 13th, 2022 for a minimum total of 12 girls and 12 boys and a maximum total of 18 boys and 18 girls.  The players will then be waterfalled onto 4, 5 or 6 teams. 

Players shall be ordered and waterfalled based on the order in which their names appear on the NSL published on July 13, 2022.

3 boys and 3 girls per team with each team playing in a round-robin group of up to 6 teams.

A team match will consist of 3 boys singles, 3 girls singles, 1 mixed doubles and 2 gender doubles matches for a total of 9 matches per round.  A match will be determined by the number of matches won. 

  • If 4 teams register, each player will play 3 singles matches and 3 mixed doubles/gender doubles matches during this event. 

  • If 5 teams register, each player will play 4 singles matches and 4 mixed doubles/gender doubles matches during this event.

  • If 6 teams register, each player will play 5 singles matches and 5 mixed doubles/gender doubles matches during this event.

Singles matches = Position #1 will play the Position #1 on each team,  Position #2 will play the Position #2 on each team,  and Position #3 will play the Position #3 on each team. 

 

The mixed doubles and gender doubles will follow the same concept, but mixed doubles will rotate positions for each round, for example:

Round 1 matches (in addition to #1, #2 and #3 singles):

#1 girls/#1 boys will play mixed doubles, #2 & #3 girls and #2 and #3 boys will play gender doubles

Round 2 matches (in addition to #1, 2 and #3 singles):

#2 girls/#2 boys will play mixed doubles, #1 & #3 girls and #1 & #3 boys will play gender doubles

Round 3 matches (in addition to #1, #2 and #3 singles):

#3 girls/#3 boys will play mixed doubles, #1 & #2 girls and #1 & #2 boys will play gender doubles

 

The schedule of matches will be posted before the tournament begins.  

 

SCORING FORMATS

Singles: 

  • Best 2 of 3 tiebreak sets with a 10 point match tiebreak in lieu of a 3rd set - NO AD SCORING

MIXED Doubles and GENDER Doubles:

  • 8 game Pro set with NO AD SCORING - a 7-point match tiebreak played at 8 games all
